“”War of the Nexus”” is an ambitious fantasy trilogy, with its first volume, The Seeds of Chaos, released on January 23, 2025. Created by Shady Shawareb, this saga was meticulously developed for over 20 years, weaving together storytelling, art, and music. The series aims to propel Egyptian fantasy into global media, with plans to pitch it to streaming platforms, game studios, and production houses.
At its heart, The Nexus was the axis of existence, linking seven realms: Fire, Glass, Stone, Dead, Blood, Messengers, and The Throne. To rule all, one had to control the Nexus, making it a constant battleground. In response, five kingdoms (Linnoit, Uku, Rikka, Arvest, and Moloch) and several tribes (Aguna, Pauks, Gorita, Orians, Edoja, Tangar, and Shards) formed The Nexus Alliance, striving to protect the balance of power.
Inspired by The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien, the first volume unfolded as a mythic chronicle, detailing the world’s origins, politics, cultures, and wars, leading to a cataclysmic event that reshaped history. The narrative read like a collection of ancient records, offering a deep, layered lore that gradually built toward the unfolding chaos.
To immerse readers further, the book featured an interactive Instagram account, allowing fans to contribute to the evolving mythology. Accompanying the story was a 30-track original soundtrack, composed by the author, available on Spotify, YouTube Music, Deezer, Apple Music, and more.
Since its release, The Seeds of Chaos has been celebrated by Egyptian readers as one of the first English-language fantasy epics to emerge from Egypt, marking a significant milestone in the country’s literary landscape.
